EASY STYLING TIPS: HOLIDAY TABLE

Today I’m sharing my tips on how to create that perfect holiday table! Whether you’re hosting a big party this holiday season, or you just want to set up a nice family dinner, hopefully these insights will help take off the stress of creating a tablescape.

I’m not too formal when it comes to centerpieces. I like organic shapes, mixing textures, and candles! Why does food taste better when you’re eating by candlelight? It’s a thing, people.

Check out the how-to below! Extra points if you can tell who I wish was sitting at my table this Thanksgiving. :)

  1. Start with a base. For this tablescape, I used the cutest buffalo check tablecloth(a HomeGoods find), & burlap strips to create a runner.

**NOTE: Think about levels! You want the eye to be able to travel, so using books or blocks will help to create different viewpoints and perspectives. I used one of my favorite books under a burlap runner to create some height in the center.

2. Bring in some life. Adding greenery is a must in my opinion! It brings an organic element that you can’t get any other way. I used silver dollar eucalyptus, I love the shape, and it always lays nicely. I just layered a few stems here. Might look a little messy now, but it all comes together!

3. Create a focal point. Choose your star players! I picked up a bunch of different glass hurricanes from the dollar store and went to town. I created a main grouping in the middle and added a couple on each side for balance.

4. Layer, layer, layer! Add in different elements to create a full effect. I had candlesticks, white pumpkins and pomegranates. I tried to pick different hues of the fruit to create some interest there as well.

**NOTE: Every time you add a new element, take a step back and see how the table is balanced. Balance doesn’t mean symmetry, but it does mean that one side doesn’t “outweigh” the other. For example, I used taller candlesticks on one side to balance out the tall glass hurricane I had on the other.

When you step back, you can also see where there are gaps for you to fill!

5. Light it up! After I filled in the holes, I went back through and added just a couple mercury glass votives. They’re tiny, but they add the best glow to any table setting!

That’s it! It doesn’t take very much time or money to create this look. I love that it’s neutral, but still feels festive!

Your table is ready to be set! I kept things clean and crisp. I used the pomegranate element again to use as my placeholders. Simple and effective!
